Cold vapour atomic absorption for total gaseous mercury in ambient air.
HG200 measures gaseous mercury in ambient air at background concentrations, using cold vapour atomic absorption at 253.7 nm. It is used in air quality stations, supersites and background sites.
A low-pressure mercury lamp provides the 253.7 nm line, and the absorption is converted to concentration. The measuring range is set at the factory and can be adapted to the site, from ultra-trace background levels to elevated concentrations.
